Finding Your Slice of Paradise: Tips for Finding Apartments/Homes in Mexico’s Most Beautiful Locations
Lets be blunt, apartment hunting can be a headache. Those photos on the website were not exactly what you saw when you arrived. Maybe the photos left out the colony of ants scurrying in and out the front door. Or possibly the “Fully Furnished Apartment” didn’t upload the photo of the yellow-stained mattress.
Your next question might be: Is there a “right” way to attack the apartment hunting hassle? The simple answer is, no. However, depending on where you are looking to live, there are smarter and more efficient approaches to save you time and energy. Below are some tips I wanted to share based on my experiences living in Mexico. I hope it helps you to detour the headaches by being more efficient and tactical about your approach to renting or buying.
Walk The Streets
In Mexico a majority of adverting is done on the streets. The streets’ light poles are decorated with advertisements and promotions. Not to mention the numerous banners dangling from caged windows or on metal gated walkways saying, “For rent/To Buy.”
